Visualisation Activity

Mrs Smith taught us all about visualisation. She told us a story about the Nogard. The story was very descriptive and we needed to use our imagination to draw a nogard without looking at any pictures. Eventually we found out that a nogard is dragon! (Nogard is dragon spelt backwards).  It was amazing to see how all our drawings turned out and how similar they were.

Later in the week we then wrote stories with Mrs Hanson about our dragon. We were encouraged to use adjectives to describe our dragons.

Look out for future a future post of our published stories.

Milk in Schools

Last Friday was our first day of having milk at school. Every day we will get a free carton of cold milk to drink. Our buddy class visited us and showed us how to fold up our empty cartons ready to go in the special Fonterra blue bins. These bins are only for our cartons and straws and they are taken away to be recycled into different things such as books!

We have our milk around 10am each day after fitness. We drink our milk while we finish writing or while completing reading activities.

Hockey

This term we are lucky enough to have some special coaches come in and teach us basic hockey skills each Wednesday. This week was our first session and we were learning to hold a hockey stick correctly, dribble the ball, stop the ball and dribble in reverse.
